Show Rules for 2011
Kaleidoscope of Quilts XV
- Any Entry may be submitted
which has not been entered in any previous K of Q shows.
- ENTRY FORMS and FEES must be
submitted by June 30, 2011.
- No single quilt may be
entered in more than one category. Entrants may exhibit as many quilts as
desired. A separate form must be completed for each entry.
- ENTRY FEE is $5 for each
item. EXCEPTIONS: No fee for quilts entered in the invitational, children's,
teens and antique - "for display only" categories.
- AN IDENTIFICATION TAG (LABEL) which includes
entrant's Name, Address, Phone #, and name of quilt must be sewn to the back
of each quilt entry. As you are looking at the back of the quilt, attach the
label to the lower right corner. Each garment entry should have an
identification tag
attached to the inside
of each piece. Identification tags should be attached prior to delivery dates.

- A 4" SLEEVE must be
sewn to the back of each quilt. If your quilt is more than 90" long,
place the top edge of the sleeve 90" from the quilt bottom. Entries
without sleeves WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. (See below for instructions for
making quilt sleeve)
- Garments submitted for
judging must be part of a total ensemble in order to qualify for the Best of
Show Award. The coat or jacket MUST have a recognizable amount of quilting.
No part of the ensemble may be purchased ready to wear. Garments submitted
in the other two (non-ensemble) Coat or Jacket categories may be a single
clothing item. (See Garment entry form)
- If you would like
notification of receipt of entry, please include SASE.
- All quilts will be judged
prior to the show
- Quilts may be offered for
sale, but must remain on display until 5 pm Saturday. All transactions will be
the responsibility of the individual quilt owner.
- All items entered in the
show must be PICKED UP at the Franciscan Center on Saturday between 5:30 pm
and 6:30 pm with your registration receipt as proof of ownership. No quilts
will be returned UPS unless prior arrangements have been made. (See Entry

- All entries will be handled
with the greatest care; however, the Commission will not be responsible for
loss or damage to your entry while it is out of your possession. (Quilts
may be covered on your homeowner's Insurance Policy)
- The Commission or judges
reserve the
right to change the category of quilt entries when appropriate.

Quilt Sleeve Instructions:
Cut a strip of fabric 8.5” wide and the length equal
to the width of your quilt, plus, add two inches. Make a one-inch
hem on two ends, short edges of the strips. With wrong sides
together, sew along the long edges using a 1/4” seam allowance.
Turn and iron the sleeve with the seam line in the center of the
sleeve. With the seam line next to the quilt lining, place the
sleeve 1/2” down from the top edge of the quilt back, and then slip
stitch the sleeve along the sleeve edges on the top and bottom of
the lining only. Leave the ends of the sleeve open for a rod so the
quilt can be hung for display at the Kaleidoscope of Quilt Show.
Identification Tag (Label)
Identification tag must be sewn onto back side of
the quilt in the lower right corner.
To label your
bag or tote, you can either baste a muslin label or attach a piece of masking
tape, to the inside of your bag, with your ID info. (Both could be easily
removed after the show.)
Entries (Quilts, Bags, and
Invitational Pieces) may be DELIVERED to:

Entries may also be sent by UPS
and must be RECEIVED between July 1 and July 8 to an address that will be
listed.
