Sweet Sixteen

This will be the Glass City Quilt Commission’s sixteenth quilt show (XVI), and we’re happy to reach this exciting milestone.  So celebrate along with us, and consider this your personal invitation to participate in this judged competition! Use your imagination to interpret the theme:  Sweet Sixteen. You will use your own fabrics, and can make any quilted medium (quilt, wall hanging, table runner, vest, jacket, totebag, etc).

 The rules are:

*   You must use SIXTEEN different fabrics on your entry.  No more, no less.  This includes your backing, binding, and/or lining.  All sixteen fabrics must be recognizable on the front or outside.

*   You must include sixteen recognizable sewn units as part of your design, such as sixteen flying geese, or Dresden plates, or prairie points, or square-in-a-square, etc.

* Your registration form, when submitted, must include an explanation of how you have interpreted the theme Sweet Sixteen, besides using sixteen fabrics and sixteen sewn units.

*
You may use any combination of construction techniques, any or no embellishments, and your item must be quilted.

*   If your item is a quilt, it must be three-layered, quilted, have a finished edge, and should be no larger than 24” x 24”.

*  Your entry MUST have a sleeve attached to the back for hanging, or some other mechanism for display.   It must also have a firmly attached label of any sort.

There is no entry fee for this Special Exhibit.   This category will be judged independently of the Kaleidoscope XVI Show, with a ribbon award.
